SO...I have told you all that we have been battling the flu for about 2 weeks now. Well it has claimed its third victim in this house. Don came home not feeling well last night and then he started throwing up in the middle of the night. The bad thing is he usually does not get sick. I can't even remember a time when he has actually gotten this sick. I feel bad for him. The bad thing is I have started feeling icky again as well. I really hope we don't continue to just pass it back and forth between all of us! I have been cleaning and spraying disinfectent spray everywhere but I can't seem to keep up with it.
I am praying this will all go away soon. We have a very busy March coming up!
Hope you all are having a blessed weekend.

After 3 years of "waiting" we are now on a new journey to raise our little guy. I hope you enjoy reading about our life with this precious little guy! ***And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

18 WEEKS!
I looked at the calendar the other day and realized we have been waiting almost 5 months! WOW...This month has been really slow with the referrals. I think we have only moved one spot all month. I sure hope it picks soon. I am still praying very hard for a referral and successful court date prior to the closure in August!
We have still had the flu going through. Emilie (our youngest)started in on Monday night. She missed 2 days of school. Then the little ones that I watch have had it AND their mother as well. I am praying no one else gets it.
The kids' bathroom is just about done. I believe Don is going to work on the flooring Saturday. I am happy with the color. In fact, I have been wishing we had painted the baby's room the same green color. Oh well...Don says...NO WAY!
Hope everyone is avoiding the nasty flu and having a wonderful day!
Blessings~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!
Today is my mother's birthday. She is........years old. Now would I tell that secret?? HEE HEE I hope she had a wonderful day.
My mom has become a great friend to me. She is one of my biggest prayer warriors and has been for quite some time. She is so ready for our little guy to get here just like everyone else! I am sure our little one will be blessed big time by his Grandma!
So...thanks Mom for lifting us up. Thanks for all you do! I appreciate our friendship more than you will ever know!
Happy Birthday!! Love you!! Tina

WAITING 17 WEEKS & THE FLU!
We have now been waiting 17 weeks for a referral for our little guy. We think there were some referrals this week but are waiting for an announcement today. We were recently told we are #56 overall after these referrals but we haven't heard anything about the referrals so we don't know boys or girls or ages yet.
Some very sad news: We heard this week that one of the baby girls who was referred not long ago passed away last weekend. She got an infection and just could not fight it off. We are so devastated for the family and wish that you would join us in prayers for all of those invovled!
I came down with the flu on Monday. I woke up feeling nasty and it proceeded throughout the day. Thankfully, I was able to stay in bed all day on Tuesday and my wonderful hubby took care of everything! I am feeling better but still can't quite shake the headache, cough and stomach ache! Hopefully it will go away soon. At least the hot flashes are gone! Those were horrible.
We are getting a few projects around the house done before little guy arrives. We started on the kids' bathroom several months ago but just didn't make it too far. Yesterday Don got the cabinet sanded and painted. It looks much nicer. I think he is going to try to get the walls painted today or tomorrow. We still have the flooring and border to go up and all of the accessories but in time it will get done. Then I am going to find a cheap shower curtain! Since it is the kids bath we don't want to put too much $ into it. They can be a bit destructive which is why we are redoing it!
Hope you all have a blessed weekend.

16 WEEKS & VALENTINE'S DAY!!
It is amazing to me that we have been waiting 16 weeks already. I still have my ups and downs but I am finally feeling like we are getting closer to our little guy! I am certain that we still have at least another 10 to 12 weeks but would love for it to be sooner. :) The biggest guesses for our referral day are in Mar and Apr. SO...we will see.
Valentine's Day is tomorrow. I think we are just going to hang out at home and cook dinner. I think we are going to have chicken and ribs. I don't eat ribs so the chicken is mainly for me. Gnawing something off the bone makes me gag! Don and I are going to a Valentine Dinner at our Church tonight. The Youth is serving it and they are having childcare for the younger children. It is donation only so that certainly helps our budget! It will be fun to watch Randy serving and waiting on tables. Emilie was not real happy about going but I told her they are having activities and feeding them as well so that made her a little happier.
I will try and get a picture and post it of Emilie with her Valentine gift tomorrow. It is SO cute!
The weather here has been crazy. We played outside without coats one day and now it is sleeting! It is making us feel icky. I usually always get the crud this time each year. I end up with a cold and lose my voice. The kids love it because Mom can't nag and raise her voice to be heard!
Hope you all enjoy your Valentine's weekend! I am thankful to know that I am loved and not just one day a year! :)
Blessings~

15 WEEKS!
We have been waiting 15 weeks to see a picture of our little guy. In some ways it doesn't seem like that long BUT in other ways it seems like FOREVER!! This has been a very quiet week with no referrals at all unless there are some today. **Praying**
We did find out in the update last week that we may not be #18 (for a boy 0-12 months). I guess some people have changed their request from siblings to either gender or from one gender to another. I made a deal with myself that I would not request our # until the end of Feb. I don't want to nag our adoption consultant and I don't want to stress myself anymore than I already am. Donald was a little upset about this. He doesn't think it is fair that people can do this but I do understand. Sometimes the wait is just TOO MUCH!! In the Vietnam program it was much harder to change your request. As we already know God has our little guy all picked out and so we will continue our wait. I think Don may be starting to feel a little anxious about this wait.
Emilie has had a pretty bad cough and it doesn't seem to be getting better. We have tried most of the meds we know to try. She hates liquid meds. She started at a very young age taking whatever swallow pills she could. She doesn't like chewables either. When she sees liquid she begins to have a meltdown. She has done pretty well taking it though. I think we are going to try to get her a Dr appt to see if there is something else going on. We skipped swim lessons this week because it was really cold. Now today it is supposed to be 70!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings~

LOTS OF LAUGHS
I had my family here on Sunday for my parents birthdays. My Dad's was 1/19 and my Mom's is 2/21. So... I was trying to hit right in the middle to celebrate them both together. My sister's family and my parents and niece all came up and went to Church with us. We really enjoyed having them. Then we came home and had dinner here and ice cream cake from Maggie Moos...YUM!!
We played the wii and got my parents to play as well. It was pretty funny and great to see my parents have such a good time. I loved watching all of the younger kids play together. I know Emilie really enjoyed having them here. I hope we can work harder to get together more often this year!
Really you all should have seen my Dad bowl. It was SO funny. He was telling everyone how to line their's up and all and so my sister said he had to play the next game. He did but sometimes his ball would go so slow because he wasn't quite swinging and releasing quite right. BUT it was working for him and he got several strikes when that happened. We all laughed so hard at him. He has been so stressed because he has finally decided to retire due to some major cutbacks at his work again. They are cutting them down to 2 maybe 3 days and they are now having to take their 2nd lay-off week this week with no pay! I feel really bad for them. BUT I am glad he is finally retiring because he needs to. He will be much happier once it all happens and settles down some, I think!
