ANOTHER MONTH... has been another month of no news. We are waiting on notes to be posted to JCICS and then our agency will set up another conference call to go over any questions or concerns we may have. One minute I read something that makes me optimistic and then I read something that makes me concerned. Our paperwork has been logged in to Vietnam for almost 7 months. I know one agency that had been waiting for referrals for about 6 months received 2 referrals this week. That is movement but unfortunately with another agency doesn't help us much. We are still praying hard for good news and some movement. I would be thrilled just to move up from the #5 spot!!!

I have been under the weather for the last week. I went to the Dr per my husband's request. I got back on my allergy meds hoping that was all it was. Now I am thinking that it may be more. I have had a headache for over a week and now I have a bad cough that feels like it is in my chest. It aggravates me to go back to the Dr because she didn't even check me just wrote the scripts for my meds and said if I am not better in 2 weeks it could be a sinus infection.

Emilie has started her soccer games. Her first game was last Tues and she played her second game tonight. It was really cold and windy and so that did not help the cold!! I love to watch her play. It is quite funny!! She is very animated when things happen. She got hit by the ball on her leg and if looks could have killed the kid that did it would have been in trouble. It is so funny. BUT she does do pretty well getting in there to try and get the ball. Her coach told me tonight that she went to him and said "I am cold can I come out?" That's my girl!!

Randy and Dad ran a 5k on the 22nd of Mar. Randy finished 3rd in his age group and Donald finished 6th. Donald was just thrilled that he beat the 6yr old by 2 seconds!!!! :) I wish I could have seen it! I guess we are all going to do one in Aug. I told them I would walk it. So...I better start training for it. Walking over 3 miles is not something I have done in awhile.

We got Tifanie's announcements for graduation today. :( Am I really ready for this??

I am cleaning out closets right now preparing for a garage sale in our near future. Plus they all need to be cleaned out really bad!! We will have a lot to sell once we get it all organized.

Please continue to pray for us. We really had hoped our little guy would atleast be referred to us by now. We know God has a plan and that he has our little guy all picked out so please pray for peace as we continue to wait.

Until later...

HAPPY SPRING!!! It is certainly hard to believe that spring is here. I have enjoyed the last few days. The weather is nice and I can open the windows and air out the house! That always makes me feel better.

Yesterday I realized that it had been over a year since we signed papers with our agency for the adoption. I was a little sad. We really thought we would atleast have our referral by now. Donald says the month is not over yet. BUT we are still #5 so that would mean several referrals at one time. I am not that optimistic.

We have decided to put a few scriptures on the baby's wall. The kids wanted to get involved in picking some also. I was quite impressed with the ones they came up with.

Well...Easter is this weekend. So we are attending a passover dinner at our Church tomorrow night. Then Saturday we have soccer practice and the guys are running in a 5K. Then we will head to grandparents for dinner and egg hunting! Sunday we are going to Sunrise Service and Church and then out to dinner and home. SO...I think we will be busy for the next few days.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend.

Until later...

Well...we are home. We left last Thursday and arrived home Sunday afternoon. We had a good time visiting with Aunt Shine and Jawana. We didn't do much but visit but that is why we went. We stayed in a hotel on Thursday night and the kids got to swim. We ordered Chinese food and just hung out there. Then Friday morning we got up had breakfast and traveled for only an hour. Aunt Shine sure fed us well. I am sure we all gained weight in just those few short days!! We headed for home on Sunday morning and arrived at home around 3pm. Donald drove the entire way there and back so we definitely made good time!! :)

It was nice to be away from the computer for those few days! We were going to take it but I decided I needed a break from "the adoption world". Of course, when we got home the first thing I did was check to see if there was anything new going on. Can you guess?? Right...NOTHING!!! Our agency did send an update saying they had taken part in a conference call and as soon as JC downloaded the notes to their site and we had all had a chance to read them they would schedule another conference call. So...I guess we will do some more waiting!

Soon I am going to figure out how to put pictures on here!

An update on our friend and her kidney surgery: It was cancelled last week because the match was not perfect. As you can imagine, she was heart-broken. I know that God has a plan for her and so we are continueing to pray for her and ask that you do the same.

Thanks for your support and prayers. I know it helps me with all of the waiting knowing that you all are praying for us!

Until later...

FRUSTRATION & CONFUSION I am sure you have guessed there is still no news about the adoption. I am trying not to get frustrated but it is there.

A few days ago I read on the joint council site that they are pushing for Vietnam to honor finalizing adoptions that have received referrals past the expiration of the MOU. I am wondering where that leaves those who have not received a referral by Sept 1st?? I have been going over and over in my mind about what we will do IF.... The thing that I am learning is that adoption is not something a "planner" handles well. I make lists and I throw them out. The paper chase was quite easy for me. The waiting is what is taking its toll on me!! Our agency has not received any referrals in 6+ months. And even though they say that there are more boys than girls our agency has only received one referral for an infant boy and I believe one for a toddler boy. We are still #5 for an infant boy. me that is not great odds for a referral by Sept 1st. We will be updating our homestudy probably in Aug and need to get re-fingerprinted then also. I am praying for a miracle!! I am sure I am not the only waiting adoptive mommy doing the same!! I know in my heart that God has a plan BUT I sure wish he would let me in on it!! :)

Yesterday, as Emilie practiced for soccer, I got caught up on my Bible study for our small group tonight. We are doing the study of Daniel by Beth Moore--I am enjoying most of it!! One of the verses for the lesson was John 16:24 "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be made complete." SO...HMMM...I stopped what I was doing and in His name I asked for guidance in our circumstances with the adoption. I guess I just need to remember WHO is really in control.

On a happier note we are praying that this is the week our dear friend, Debbie, gets her kidney transplant. We should know for sure by Tues and if it is a go we will enjoy having Heidi and Matthew in our home for the next 6 to 8 weeks. I know this is going to be so hard on Debbie as she will miss them so much while they are away. I have assured her I will return them to her and that I will do everything in my power to bring them to her as she requests. Please, if you have a second pray for her. Heidi just rolled over for the first time this past week and I know Debbie is wondering what she will miss during this time.

I guess this ended up being a kind of long post. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we wait!

Until later...

We have adjusted to the no baseball until summer. Randy is doing really well. He decided that he wants to run another 5K in a few weeks so we signed him and Don up to do that together. Don has been working on spending more time with him. They have plans for the weekend and are hanging out together tonight. Randy has decided that God has a different plan for him these next few months. He is going to work on getting his Eagle Project together for scouts.

Emilie has started soccer practice and is enjoying it. We are hoping it will help her run off some energy.

Tifanie has started a new job. She is now doing an internship for her CNA. She is working at the same place that she is doing her clinicals during school hours. I am pleased that she is finding something to help her with her future! We are very proud of her.

We are still just waiting for the adoption. I knew this would be a long tough road but never imagined all of the feelings I would experience. It is hard to go out and hear people ask how the adoption is going. All we can say is we're still waiting. Sometimes I wonder if anyone believes us. We have said we are waiting for quite awhile now. Anyway...we are still praying. We really won't make any definite decisions until we see what Vietnam does the beginning of Sept.

Our fingerprints will need to be redone the beginning of Sept and then our homestudy will need to be updated by Oct. We will hopefully know what is going on more before we have the homestudy updated.

So...Until later...

Today has been a tough day. Randy has been working for 2 months and practicing towards trying out for the freshman baseball team. Today they had to arrive at 8 am and as soon as they were cut they had to be picked up. And of course, I got a phone call about 830. I felt so bad for him. He took it pretty well but the more he thought about it the harder it got for him. He is hoping they can start practicing soon for their summer team. The Mama lion in me wanted to tear those coaches apart!! How dare they say my son was not quite good enough for their team!! BUT...I know it could not have been easy for them. They had almost 50 freshman going out for only 30 spots. I would not have wanted to make that decision! I know that the pain of not being "good" enough will pass for him but it sure hurts right now!

We got our new furniture yesterday. I really like it!! It makes our livingroom look bigger and there is a lot more seating available now. Maybe we can have more people over for parties now?? The only problem is that it has real bad static issues. Everyone's hair stands on end when they sit on it and the kids are having a blast doing the shocking thing! :)

Adoption news is the same. We have been throwing out some ideas about other things we can do while we wait for our little guy from Vietnam. I am praying that God will lead us where he wants us to go.

Until later...
